A month after getting approval from the European Commission, Google has officially acquired Fitbit. Google has reaffirmed that it does not want to gain user health data, but simply wants to sell FitBit devices following the completion of this purchase.
As Google stated in a statement, it wants to cooperate with Fitbit to develop new services and solutions that will help consumers get more knowledge and achieve more success, happiness, and health.
User privacy and security is a priority for Google, and the company will give consumers complete control over their data, according to Google. At the end of 2019, Google will pay $7.172 billion for the Foot Bit.
